James Keller

James E. Keller was born in Harlan and received his undergraduate education at Eastern Kentucky University. In private practice from 1969 until 1976, he served as a circuit court judge and as chief judge in Fayette County for more than twenty years. Keller was appointed to the Kentucky Supreme Court in 1999, and retired this year. His judicial tenure was marked by innovation and progress, including the establishment of new programs for domestic cases, for drug court, and for the enforcement of child support obligations.
