Allison Connelly, Director of the Legal Clinic and James and Mary Lassiter Professor of Law, is the recipient of the 2016 Duncan Teaching Award at the University of Kentucky College of Law. 

Every year, a UK Law faculty member is recognized for excellence in the classroom, courtesy of the Robert M. and Joanne K. Duncan Faculty Improvement Fund – established in 1982 to promote outstanding teaching performance at the college.

Eighteen diverse high school students, representing all of Lexington’s public high schools and Sayre, came to the University of Kentucky College of Law on June 12-18 for the third annual Summer Law Institute (SLI) – a seven-day residential Law Camp for rising juniors and seniors interested in law and the legal profession.

Kenleigh Joseph, a student at Tates Creek High School, participated in the camp this year.

UK Law’s two Kentucky Mock Trial Championship teams who had strong showings at the recent state competition held in Covington, Kentucky.

Congratulations to UK Law’s two Kentucky Mock Trial Championship teams who had strong showings at the recent state competition held in Covington, Kentucky. One team, comprised of second year students, advocates Alison Zeitlin and Josh Barnette, and witnesses Amy Robertson and James Wilson, was undefeated before losing in the championship round to an  experienced 3L team from Louisville.

The beginning of the school year is always a hectic time on campus, however, the month of September was especially busy for two UK Law professors. Scott Bauries, the Robert G. Lawson Associate Professor of Law, and Allison Connelly, the Director of the Legal Clinic and James and Mary Lassiter Professor of Law, were recently quoted and cited as sources in hundreds of national media outlets regarding the Rowan County (Kentucky) Clerk who refused to issue marriage licenses.

Bill Fortune accepts Oustanding Service to Young Lawyers Award and Allison Connelly accepts Donated Legal Services Award at 2015 KBA Annual Convention

UK Law Professors Allison Connelly and Bill Fortune were honored at the KBA 2015 Annual Convention.

The Kentucky Bar Association (KBA) honored Professor Allison Connelly with the 2015 Donated Legal Services Award during their annual membership luncheon. The Donated Legal Services Award is given to “an individual in good standing with the KBA and currently involved in pro bono work. The selection process places special emphasis on the nature of the legal services contributed and the amount of time involved in the provision of free legal services.”
