Activity around the law school has not slowed down over the summer. Many faculty members will enter the new academic year in promoted roles.

The University of Kentucky Board of Trustees recently approved Dean David Brennen’s recommendation that several members of the UK Law faculty receive promotions. Melynda Price, Robert E. Harding, Jr. Associate Professor of Law, has been promoted to Professor in the University’s Regular title series. James Donovan, Law Library Director and James and Mary Lassiter Associate Professor of Law, has been granted tenure in the University’s Regular title series. Melissa Henke has been promoted to Associate Professor in the University’s Clinical title series. Law Library Professors Tina Brooks, Electronic Services Librarian, and Franklin Runge, Faculty Services Librarian, have been promoted to Librarian III.

Nicole Huberfeld, H. Wendell Cherry Professor of Law, has been selected as the new Ashland-Spears Distinguished Research Professor.  Professor Huberfeld has also agreed to serve as the next Associate Dean for Faculty Academic Affairs at UK Law. Professor Huberfeld’s term as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs will begin on January 1, 2016. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs is responsible for ensuring the integrity and smooth functioning of the academic component of UK Law operations in the areas of instruction delivery, general student matters, maintenance of academic records, faculty supervision, academic compliance and reporting, and other duties as assigned by the Dean. In the absence of the Dean, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs is in charge of all matters normally requiring the Dean’s approval or oversight.
