Jimmi Nicholson

Director of Admissions

Jimmi Nicholson, is the Director for Admissions at the College of Law. A native of New Orleans, LA, Jimmi received her BA from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside where she was involved in numerous student organizations and leadership positions such as, Resident Advisor, Student Senator and President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.-Sigma Upsilon Chapter to name a few. After receiving her undergraduate degree, Jimmi earned her Master of Science in Education from Illinois State University. Before arriving at UK, Jimmi served as a Residence Hall Director at Murray State University, Illinois Wesleyan University and The Ohio State University. During her time at OSU, she also served as the Coordinator for African American Student Services at The Ohio State University Student Life Multicultural Center and Assistant Director for Admissions/Diversity & Inclusion at the Moritz College of Law for ten years. Additionally, Jimmi has held leadership positions in the Great Lakes Association of Housing and University Officers, American College Personnel Association, Central Ohio Diabetes Association and founding member of the Annual Meeting of Law School Diversity Professionals.

Admissions Associate

Jeanie Powell is the Admissions Associate in the UK Law Admissions Office. She has been in Admissions for over 15 years. Prior to that time, she was a Staff Support Associate for faculty, as well as the Dean.

Jessica Rukavina

Admissions Counselor

Jessica Rukavina joined the UK Rosenberg College of Law as the Admissions Counselor in July of 2018.  Prior to joining the College of Law, she worked in the UK Office of Academic Scholarships, a division of Enrollment Management and Student Financial Aid, for five years.  Jessica received her BA in psychology from the University of Kentucky in 2011, and her Master’s of Science in Education in Counseling Psychology from UK In 2013.  She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Higher Education Policy and Evaluation at the University of Kentucky.

Jessica’s primary responsibilities include traveling around the state and country to meet outstanding prospective UK Law students, coordinating on-campus student visits, and helping to plan and facilitate on-campus admissions events for prospective and admitted students.

Jessica is active in the community and proudly serves on the Board of Directors for Haitian International Scholarship Program.
