Work Study Program

The UK Office of Student Financial Aid,, contains the Work Study Office. Work study is a federal program which helps to fund students’ academic year and summer employment with qualifying organizations. Students work through work study in positions at UK Law as faculty research assistants, UK Law Library, UK Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Department, and at other qualifying on and off campus locations. Students who were awarded summer public interest awards by the law school usually apply for work study so that they may combine these awards with work study funding. For summer employment, UK Law students complete their work study forms when they are made available by the Work Study Office, which is normally in the beginning of March.

In order to work under work study, the employer must pay a percentage of the student's wages or the student must obtain funding to cover the employer's portion if the employer does not have funding to participate.
