David Wright joined the University of Kentucky Rosenberg College of Law in Fall 2017 as Assistant Dean of Student Services. As Assistant Dean, he provides support for College of Law students on a range of non-academic matters, including student organizations and leadership, student health and well-being, student conduct, individual advising and counseling, and character and fitness questions. Dean Wright also oversees major student programs such as 1L Orientation, Commencement, and other student programs and initiatives.

Before joining the College of Law, Dean Wright was Director of Development for the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, TN. He also previously served in student affairs positions at the University of Kentucky and the University of Arkansas. Prior to his career in higher education, he was an associate at Hayes, Alford & Johnson, PLLC in Fort Smith, AR.

Dean Wright is a native of Hope, AR, and holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Arkansas. He earned a law degree at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Bowen School of Law. He is a Ph.D. candidate in Educational Policy Studies and Evaluation at UK, where he studies legal education, law student experience, and intercollegiate athletics.
