Susan Bybee Steele, Associate Dean for Career Development
Associate Dean Susan Steele graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1985 and a Juris Doctor in 1988. She practiced law for seven years with the law firm of Ogden, Newell & Welch PLLC, which is currently the Louisville office of Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC after a merger. Associate Dean Steele began with the law school in January of 1996 and has been working in Career Development since her return to the College of Law.
Dean Steele counsels students and prepares written resources on everything from interview skills to salary negotiations to legal career choices, by appointment and on a walk-in basis. She also provides regular programming and materials on topics including résumé and cover letter preparation, research skills, and job search strategies. Dean Steele manages the operations of the office, advises the student public interest group, and enjoys working with students, alumni, and employers. Amy Collier Eason, Director of Career Development
Amy Collier Eason graduated from Georgetown College with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science in 2001. She is a 2004 graduate of UK College of Law. During her time at the College of Law, Amy served on the Kentucky Law Journal, was elected as a representative to the Student Bar Association, and was a member of the UK Legal Clinic. Following law school graduation, Amy practiced in the Lexington office of the law firm of Woodward, Hobson & Fulton, L.L.P. (now Dinsmore & Shohl LLP) as a litigation associate. Amy is Past President of the Fayette County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section and has held other positions with this organization. Joan Yocum, Student Affairs Officer
Joan Yocum joined the College of Law in 1969 and has assisted in the Career Development Office since 1976. She possesses a wealth of knowledge of career development and fondly remembers our alumni when they contact the office or visit campus to interview students.
