UK Rosenberg Law Professor Organizes Progressive Scholars Workshop

UK Rosenberg Law Assistant Professor of Law Tiffany D. Atkins recently organized and hosted the inaugural Society of American Law Teachers (SALT) Progressive Scholars Workshop. Held April 24 - 26 at Boston University School of Law, the workshop gathered pre-tenure scholars and senior faculty commentators from law schools around the U.S. to share and receive feedback on their legal scholarship.  

Atkins, who chaired the organizing committee, said she sought to create "a space for pre-tenured scholars to be both rigorous and real about what it means to do progressive legal scholarship right now.”

Participants praised the workshop’s rigorous scholarly atmosphere in an anonymous feedback survey. “The one-on-one support on my paper was invaluable,” one participant said. Another noted, “I walked away with deeper connections and resources.” A third participant said, “I really appreciated the deep dive into my work and the thorough commentary.” 

The workshop will be an ongoing SALT initiative.
