Eugene Gaetke picture

Professor Gaetke received both his undergraduate and law degrees with honors from the University of Minnesota. Prior to joining the University of Kentucky Law faculty in 1978, he was in private practice and served as a Special Assistant Attorney General in Minnesota. His scholarly articles have appeared in such journals as the George Washington Law ReviewVanderbilt Law ReviewNorth Carolina Law Review, and Hastings Law Journal, among others. He currently teaches courses in Contracts and Professional Responsibility, and in 2005 was honored to receive the University of Kentucky Great Teacher Award. He has served as a visiting law professor at Indiana University and the University of Iowa. In 2011, he was named a Fulbright Scholar and taught at the law school of the University of Maribor, Slovenia. He has served as the UK College of Law both as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (1994-97) and as its Acting Dean (1999-2000).
