W. Chris Tracy is the Bluegrass regional manager for the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy (DPA).  He began with the agency in 2009 as a law clerk and served as a trial office directing attorney in Lexington from 2014 to 2022.  Chris has appeared in over 20 counties and tried numerous misdemeanor and felony cases to verdict, including two death-noticed capital cases.  Chris has served as a coach and lecturer in DPA’s education offerings for over a decade and was recently awarded the Edward C. Monahan award for excellence in legal education.    He has attended various NACDL workshops, participated in the Clarence Darrow Institute in Chicago, NAPD’s leadership summit in Indianapolis, and lectured and coached at the New Jersey office of public defense.
