Legal Scholar Robert G. Lawson Awarded Medallion for Intellectual Achievement

University of Kentucky Libraries has awarded the 2020 UK Libraries Medallion for Intellectual Achievement to Emeritus Professor of Law Robert G. Lawson, a nationally recognized scholar on criminal law and the individual responsible for drafting the state’s laws on crime and punishment.

Emeritus Professor Bob Lawson Receives Development Service Award

November 20, 2015 By: Marc Whitt The University of Kentucky Office of Philanthropy has recognized a UK College of Law emeritus professor and three members of its staff for their demonstrated excellence in philanthropy at the 2015 Terry B. Mobley Development Awards, announced by D. Michael Richey, vice president for development and chief development officer. The ceremony was conducted Nov. 12 in the Helen G. King Alumni House.

KY Senate Honors UK Law Professor Bob Lawson

On Wednesday, March 11, 2015, the Kentucky Senate honored Professor Robert G. Lawson with a resolution in recognition of his upcoming retirement from the University of Kentucky College of Law.  Senator Morgan McGarvey (UK Law ‘07) introduced Senate Resolution No. 199 which was co-sponsored by Senate President Robert Stivers II, Senate Minority Caucus Chair Gerald Neal, Senate Minority Whip Julian M. Carroll (UK Law ’56) and Senators Reginald Thomas, Wil Schroder, and Robin Webb. The Resolution read:

On Friday, May 8, 2015, the University of Kentucky College of Law held its Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2015. Family and friends gathered in the Singletary Center for the Arts to honor and celebrate the graduating students.

KBA Young Lawyers Luncheon Honors College of Law Professor

The Young Lawyers Division of the Kentucky Bar Association honored UK College of Law Professor Bob Lawson with the 2014 Outstanding Service to Young Lawyers Award during their annual luncheon at the Kentucky Bar Association Convention on June 19. Professor Allison Connelly, the inaugural recipient of this award, introduced Professor Lawson. Professors William Fortune, Chris Frost, Melissa Henke, and Kathy Moore were also in attendance to watch Professor Lawson receive this well-deserved honor.
