On-campus interviews for summer and permanent positions are arranged by Career Development for UK students during both the fall and spring semesters. Employers who recruit at UK through campus interviews or job postings usually include law firms of all sizes, government agencies, public interest employers, branches of the military, judges, and corporations.

The majority of employers who interview on campus are from Kentucky and its surrounding states. Alumni interviewers from other areas may recruit on campus as well.

1L interviews usually take place on two Saturdays in February in order to minimize interruptions in class schedules, reduce stress, and maximize convenience for employers. 2L and 3L interviews are held during the fall and spring semesters, with the bulk of them occurring during the fall. The majority of fall interviews take place during Early Interview Week, the week prior to the start of fall classes. This timing allows students to complete many of their interviews before school starts and it gives them the advantage of getting into the interview process early.

The on-campus interview program is managed through the Symplicity system. Students upload their application materials and select the employers to whom they would like to apply in the “OCI and Resume Collections” area of the system.
