About This Publication

Condemnation and Eminent Domain in Kentucky, 1st ed. (2003) represents an adaptation, expansion, and update of two separate works: (1) Richard A. Vance, Michael D, Risley and T. Morgan Ward, Jr.’s work, entitled “Condemnation and Eminent Domain,” appearing as chapter 26 in Kentucky Real Estate Law and Practice, 2d ed. (1997) and later updated as seminar materials for a March 20, 1998 UK/CLE continuing legal education conference; and (2) Phillip K. Wicker’s seminar materials from a presentation given for registrants at a UK/CLE and Kentucky Bar Association sponsored continuing legal education program on November 5, 1988. These prior works have been highly regarded by Kentucky practitioners for a number of years. Consequently, their update and collection in this new publication is long overdue.

In addition to the textual material, there are forms and checklists; an extensive constitutional, statutory and regulatory appendix; and a table of authorities for all sources cited in the work. These provide the reader with significant assistance in researching and understanding this often complicated area of the law. Fully indexed, 200+ pages.
