Our Nixon on CNN in August

OUR NIXON is an all-archival documentary presenting the Super 8 home movies of H.R. Haldeman, John Ehrlichman and Dwight Chapin for the very first time. The footage from Nixon's aides, which obsessively documents their time in the White House, was seized by the FBI during the Watergate investigation, then filed away and forgotten for almost 40 years. The home movies are presented with other rare footage, creating an intimate and complex portrait of the Nixon presidency as never seen before.

Professor Henke Sworn in to Kentucky Bar

Congratulations to UK Law Professor and Director of Legal Research & Writing Melissa N. Henke on being sworn in to the Kentucky Bar. Kentucky Supreme Court Deputy Chief Justice Mary C. Noble (1981) administered the oath of office on September 6, with Professor Allison Connelly (1983) and Julie Butcher (1990) as witnesses.

UK Law Library Launches Lexis Digital LIbrary

The UK Law Library is pleased to be one of the first university law libraries in the country to offer our faculty and students access to the Lexis Digital Library. This resource provides e-book versions of over 800 Lexis titles including popular study aid series such as "Understanding" and "Questions and Answers," Kentucky practice materials like Caldwell's Kentucky Form Book and Kentucky Evidence Law Handbook, and authoritative treatises such as Nimmer on Copyright and Collier on Bankruptcy.

University of Kentucky Professors Receive Fulbrights

Congratulations are in order for a University of Kentucky husband and wife team – Philosophy Professor Stefan Bird-Pollan and College of Law Professor Jennifer Bird-Pollan. They are first-time recipients of Fulbright Visiting Professorships, given by the Fulbright Scholar Program. A Fulbright award sends U.S. scholars to foreign countries for academic exchange. Currently 155 countries participate in the Fulbright Scholar Program. Ultimately this program will help lead to a more peaceful, prosperous world.

College of Law Professor Publishes New Casebook

Professor Josh Douglas, along with two co-authors, has published a brand new casebook, "Election Law and Litigation: The Judicial Regulation of Politics." The 846-page book offers a student-friendly, practical approach with carefully-designed pedagogical features. Its streamlined approach tracks the chronological order of an election, with significant focus on election administration, and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.

College of Law Professor’s Brief Filed with the U.S. Supreme Court

University of Kentucky College of Law Professor Scott Bauries, along with two co-authors, has written an amicus brief that was filed with the U.S. Supreme Court in Lane v. Franks, an appeal for which the Court will hear oral argument on April 28th.

University of Kentucky College of Law Serves as Host Site for Legal Aid University

The University of Kentucky College of Law served as the host site on Friday, March 14, for Legal Aid University: How Young Lawyers Can Build a Practice and Hone Skills. This free CLE program, put together by the KBA Young Lawyers Division and Kentucky Legal Aid Programs, is offered to lawyers interested in learning basic skills in a variety of high-demand practice areas and who agree to accept at least three pro bono cases from the local legal aid program.

The Kentucky Law Journal (KLJ) and the Kentucky Journal of Equine, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Law (KJEANRL) held their annual banquet on Wednesday, March 26, at the Boone Center. There were roughly 140 attendees, including faculty and members of both journals.
