UK Law 'Raising the Bar' With $56 Million Building Project

September 7, 2017 The University of Kentucky College of Law began a new chapter with a ceremonial groundbreaking this morning on Mandrell Hall's front lawn, across the street from the Law Building, now undergoing construction. UK President Eli Capilouto and UK Law Dean David A. Brennen were joined by students, faculty, staff, donors and alumni in unveiling details of the $56 million building renovation and expansion project. The college revealed the architectural plans, as well as launched its new building campaign, "Raising the Bar, Together."

UK Law Honors Alumni, Inducts Three into Hall of Fame

June 22, 2017 On Wednesday, June 21, 2017, in Owensboro, KY, the University of Kentucky College of Law and the Law Alumni Association inducted three new members, including the first African-American female, into the 2017 Hall of Fame. The annual Hall of Fame & Alumni Awards Reception is held annually in conjunction with the Kentucky Bar Association Convention.

UK Law Hosts 7th Annual Golf Tournament, Raises Funds to Benefit Students

May 31, 2017 The University of Kentucky College of Law hosted its 7th annual golf tournament on May 15 at the world class Keene Trace Golf Club. UK Law alumni, faculty, students and friends swung by the Champion Trace Course for a day of friendly competition and a “hole” lot of fun.

UK Law Students Provide Free Filing Assistance, Save Tax Payers over $100,000 in Fees

May 31, 2017 This spring, the University of Kentucky College of Law continued one of its signature pro bono efforts – the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. Law student volunteers provided free assistance with tax preparations and filings to mostly low income individuals with simple returns.

UK Law Honors Class of 2017 at Spring Commencement Ceremony

Though the commencement format may rarely change, there is noticeable difference in seeing how each graduating class leaves its own unique mark. Friday, May 5, was dedicated to celebrating the Class of 2017. 113 eager law students walked across the stage in the Singletary Center for the Arts ready to claim their award for three years of hard work: a UK Law diploma.

UK Law Hosts Brunch to Honor 2016-17 Scholarship Donors, Recipients

February 17, 2017 On February 11, 2017, University of Kentucky College of Law students, alumni and friends gathered at Copper Roux for a brunch in honor of the 2016-17 scholarship recipients and donors. The event gave over 60 exceptional law students and donors the opportunity to fellowship. Students expressed their appreciation to the generous alumni and friends of UK Law and the donors learned firsthand how big of an impact they are making in the lives of current students.

UK Law CLE hosts Kentucky Health Law Institute

UK Announces Establishment of the Heyburn Initiative — Programming to Enhance Public’s Understanding of Federal Judiciary

UK Law Student Wins First Place in IP Writing Competition

September 21, 2016 Benjamin Tuttle (UK Law ’16) has been selected as the first place winner of the 2016 Georgia State University Intellectual Property (IP) Writing Competition, which he entered during his third-year of law school.  The competition asks law students to submit papers that address legal issues and challenges in the IP field. Entries are judged on originality of thought, contributions to the law and practice, completeness of scholarly research and the style and content of the work.
