UK Law subscribes to the Government Honors and Internship Handbook. This online resource contains a listing of many of the federal and state government agencies across the country, their summer and permanent hiring plans, links to the agencies, descriptions of their employment programs, and a table which contains the application deadlines by class year. This resource also contains the pay grades and salaries for the federal government, information about living in Washington, D.C., and a description of the background check process. The link to this resource and the password to it are contained in the Web Links area of the CDO TWEN site. Additionally, the federal government lists many openings on its main jobs page USA JOBS, www.usajobs.gov.
For Kentucky state government, a listing of agencies can be found at www.kentucky.gov. If you are interested in a summer or permanent position with a state agency which does not interview on campus, you should send a cover letter and resume to the general counsel, director, or head of that agency.
Online job postings are accessed at www.kentucky.gov via the Employment area. There you will find the listings for positions within state government. Most of the legal listings will be for licensed attorneys.
