UK Law Students Travel to L.A., Compete in LGBT Moot Court Competition

April 11, 2016 Law students at the University of Kentucky College of Law tackled a LGBT case at the 12th Annual Williams Institute LGBT Moot Court Competition in Los Angeles, California. This opportunity allowed the students to go beyond the classroom and gain valuable practical skills training. The UK Law students are members of the school’s OUTLaw student organization.

Symposium Brings Powerhouse Speakers to UK College of Law

March 30, 2016 The light of election law shined on Kentucky last Friday, March 25, as the Kentucky Law Journal (KLJ) and the University of Kentucky College of Law co-hosted an all-day symposium that brought powerhouse speakers from across the nation to the College of Law Courtroom. Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes kicked off the event titled, An Elective Perspective: Judicial Regulation of Politics in an Election Year, with the delivery of the keynote address.

Puppy Power: Law Students De-stress During 'Dog Days of Finals'

November 24, 2015 By: Whitney Harder With two weeks to go before their final exams, University of Kentucky law students needed to take a break and relieve some stress. It wasn't hard to do with a lobby full of puppies on Monday. The "Dog Days of Finals" event, hosted by the Christian Legal Society, a UK College of Law student organization, offered law students the chance to play and cuddle with puppies from Kentucky SAVE, an animal rescue organization who brought the playmates to campus.

UK Law Mock Trial Teams Have Strong Showing at State Competition

Congratulations to UK Law’s two Kentucky Mock Trial Championship teams who had strong showings at the recent state competition held in Covington, Kentucky. One team, comprised of second year students, advocates Alison Zeitlin and Josh Barnette, and witnesses Amy Robertson and James Wilson, was undefeated before losing in the championship round to an experienced 3L team from Louisville.
