Annual Golf Tournament Raises Funds to Benefit UK Law Students

June 6, 2018 - UK Law hosted the eighth Annual Golf Tournament on May 21st at the world-class Keene Trace Golf Club, where UK Law alumni, faculty, students and friends all gathered to enjoy the day while supporting education and practical skills opportunities for UK Law students.

UK Law’s KJEANRL Hosts Fourth Annual Symposium

On Wednesday, February 21, the Kentucky Journal of Equine, Agriculture, & Natural Resources Law (KJEANRL), in conjunction with the University of Kentucky College of Law, hosted its fourth annual symposium entitled, “Innovation & Advancement”. Legal practitioners and regulators from across Kentucky shared their thoughts on current legal, policy, and regulation issues affecting the environment, equine industry, and energy.  The symposium took place at the William T. Young Library in the UK Athletic Association Auditorium. 

UK BLSA Competes in Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition

Christian Rice, Jalyn Hewitt, Cailyn Butler, and Sabrina Castille, all 2nd year UK Law students and members of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA), recently competed in the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition in St. Louis, Missouri.  The competition was in conjunction with the 2018 Midwest Black Law Student Association Regional Convention.

UK Law’s Trial Advocacy Team Best in Region, Advances to Nationals

February 22, 2018 The University of Kentucky College of Law’s Trial Advocacy Board (TAB) Mock Trial team of Matthew Boggs and Caleb Taylor won the 2018 Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) Regional Trial Competition, held February 16-18 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Boggs and Taylor beat 22 other teams from Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, and Tennessee to win the coveted top spot as the region's best trial advocacy team. They are the 11th team in UK Law’s history to have raised the bar and won.

Author and keynote speaker Brian Cuban to speak at UK Law

February 14, 2018 On Monday, February 19, the UK Law Wellness Initiative, a student organization at the University of Kentucky College of Law, will host Brian Cuban, a Dallas based attorney, author and addiction recovery advocate and the younger brother of Dallas Mavericks owner and entrepreneur Mark Cuban. Cuban will speak at the Gatton College of Business and Economics in Woodward Hall (room 307) from 12:00 – 12:50 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
