UK Rosenberg Law Hosts Developing Ideas Conference

On Tuesday, May 12, the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law hosted the 2026 Developing Ideas Conference where law faculty from across the country gathered and shared their developing ideas and scholarship in an informal and supportive environment.

UK Rosenberg Law Professor Organizes Progressive Scholars Workshop

UK Rosenberg Law Assistant Professor of Law Tiffany D. Atkins recently organized and hosted the inaugural Society of American Law Teachers (SALT) Progressive Scholars Workshop. Held April 24 - 26 at Boston University School of Law, the workshop gathered pre-tenure scholars and senior faculty commentators from law schools around the U.S. to share and receive feedback on their legal scholarship.

UK Rosenberg College of Law and Berea College Host AMCA Final Round of National Tournament

Undergraduate students from 19 universities across the country participated in the American Moot Court Association Final Round of the National Tournament held Saturday, Feb. 21 – Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, at the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law, co-hosted with Berea College.

New dean of Rosenberg College of Law announced

University of Kentucky Provost Robert S. DiPaola has named Greg Van Tatenhove as the new dean of the J. David Rosenberg College of Law. Van Tatenhove, a 1989 alumnus of the college, is currently serving as district judge for the Eastern District of Kentucky, a role he has held since his confirmation by the U.S. Senate in December 2005. In that time, he served as chair of the Judicial Conference Committee on Court Administration and Case Management and a member of the Ad Hoc Strategic Planning Group.

Law Professor and AI Expert Publishes Book on Artificial Intelligence and the Law

University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law Professor Michael D. Murray recently published a book on a range of topics related to artificial intelligence and law. The book, “Artificial Intelligence and the Practice of Law: Mastering Generative and Agentic AI,” is described as a “rigorous, pedagogical guide for the 2026 practitioner.”

Office of Continuing Legal Education Hosts Inaugural AI Summit

The University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law Office of Continuing Legal Education, in partnership with the Fayette County Bar Association, held its inaugural conference on artificial intelligence on Jan. 8, 2026. Local attorneys gathered in a classroom of the law building for the Artificial Intelligence and the Law 2026 Winter Summit, which is part of a new series of educational programming devoted to the use of artificial intelligence in the practice of law.

UK Rosenberg Law Students See Success at the Regional Moot Court Competition

Six students from the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law Moot Court Board competed on Nov. 19–21 at the Regional Moot Court Competition in Houston, Texas. This year’s competition featured 14 teams from Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan and Texas. Of those 14 teams, UK Rosenberg Law's two teams both earned spots in the final four of the competition, the only school to earn that accomplishment.
