UK Law Co-hosts a Government and Public Service Career Panel

The UK College of Law Career Development office and the American Bar Association recently teamed up to co-host a government and public service career panel for interested students.  The panelists provided insight into their career paths and gave students interested in government and public service work, tips on how to break in to the field.  The panelists expressed their enjoyment with the work they do and described the rewarding aspects of their careers.  “Serving the community as a government or public sector lawyer is a highly satisfying way to advance the common good.

Professor Christopher Frost Inducted into American College of Bankruptcy

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 25, 2015) — Recognized for his contribution to the insolvency field and service to the profession and his community, Christopher Frost, University of Kentucky Thomas P. Lewis Professor of Law, was recently inducted into the American College of Bankruptcy at a ceremony in Washington, D.C.

Dean Brennen Named to Lawyers Of Color's Power List

Brennen, dean of the University of Kentucky College of Law, has been named to the Lawyers of Color's Fourth Annual Power List, a comprehensive catalog of the nation’s most influential minority attorneys and non-minority diversity advocates. Dean Brennen will be profiled in the Lawyers Of Color's Power Issue 2015 and honored at a reception March 18 in Washington, D.C.

UK College of Law Hosted Regionals of National Trial Competition

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 12, 2015) – Law students from thirteen different law schools and four different states made the trip to Lexington to compete for a chance to participate in the National Trial Competition, the most prestigious trial competition in the nation. The University of Kentucky College of Law and the Kentucky Chapter of the American College of Trial Lawyers co-hosted the regional competition at the Fayette District and Circuit Courthouses Feb. 6-8.

Professor Authors Global Network Initiative Report on Legal Assistance in Internet Era

Woods, assistant professor at the University of Kentucky College of Law, has written a report released this week by the Global Network Initiative (GNI), titled "Data Beyond Borders: Mutual Legal Assistance in the Internet Era." Woods also presented the report on Wednesday to the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
